Le  projet Equité et Qualité dans l’Enseignement Primaire (EQUIPE) financé  par l’USAID dans le cadre de sans appui au gouvernement du Bénin visa à apporter une assistance technique au Ministère du Enseignement Primaire et Secondaire (MEPS) pour la poursuit de la réforme de l’éducation primaire amorcée depuis 1991.

Une stratégie de communication qui tienne compte des réalités de la jeunesse ivoirienne en général et du milieu scolaire en particulier.

This report is a careful study of the challenges facing The Gambia as a nation and the Department of State for Education. It places the country’s progress towards EFA targets and signalizes policy directions. 

This is a proposal to seek support for an international project focusing on global health issues impacting on youth and children. The project aims at improving the health and well being of youth through empowering them with the knowledge, skills and confidence to take responsibilitu for their own health.

This paper was compiled to serve as a working document in the bid to preparing a comprehensive material on effective responses to HIV/AIDS. The purpose is to present the situation of HIV/AIDS in The Gambia, current intervention and future plans relating to HIV/AIDS.

This strategic framework builds on the perspectives identified and indicated in the first National Strategic Framework, the National HIV/AIDS/STI Policy and National and international commitments to fight the epidemic, while at the same time strengthening BCC targeting, expanding treatment care and support , combating stigma and discrimination, and implementing other priority programs.

The Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports (MOEYS) and Ghana Education Service (GES) recognise the vital role of teachers in the implementation of the MOEYS and GES Hiv/AIDS control programme. To achieve this objective, HIV/AIDS issues have been integrated into the syllabuses of relevant subjects. This manual is an attempt to provide Basic School Teachers with appropriate methodologies for teaching HIV/AIDS issues in the classroom.

This Sectoral Plan is a review and rationalization of the HIV/AIDS plans and more responsive to the National HIV/AIDS Strategic Framework. It was an important exercise that involved several stakeholders.

This document is intended to be used by Teacher Training College tutors as they prepare teacher trainees for service in Ghanaian schools. It comprises 34 distinct sessions designed to be places out over the teacher training college cycle and incorporated into subject areas deemed most appropriate.

This syllabus puts great emphasis on the need for behaviour development and change in order to combat the challenges posed by HIV/AIDS. It is hoped that the users of this syllabus will play a leading role in behaviour modification and helping others to lead AIDS and STD free life.

In developing this sector policy, the ministry intends to facilitate broader understanding and strengthen partnerships between education service providers in the fight against scourge. Currently, the scourge is placing increased pressures on learners and educators by taking the lives of key actors. As such, the ministry acknowledges the potential threat from HIV and AIDS and will do everything possible to minimise its effects on both the education sector and society.

This magazine aims to inform adolescents about sexually transmitted diseases with a special focus on HIV/AIDS.

This policy has been developed to address the crisis imposed by the pandemic in the Public Sector. It aims at providing guidance to the management of employees who are infected and affected by HIV and AIDS and prevention of further infections. The Kenya National HIV/AIDS Strategic Plan (KNASP) provides the framework and context within which strategies, plans and budgets should be formulated, monitored and coordinated.

This is one of the books in a series on AIDS Education for youth in and out of school. The book provides information which will enable the youth to be responsible citizens who can make rational decisions for themselves. It will also help them develop healthy relationships with those they interact with. It is an extension, indeed a re-articulation, of the national goals, objectives and unmet targets of Basic Education for All, within the six goals of the Dakar Framework for Action.

Ce document constitue le Cadre Stratégique National de lutte contre les IST/VIH/SIDA a partir duquel le PMT III sera élabore ce plan sera la synthèse des plans opérationnels annuels des différents intervenants a tous les niveaux (secteurs, régions et société civile).

L’introduction d’un programme d’enseignement (de prise en charge) des jeunes en matière d’IST/VIH/SIDA s’impose donc dans notre système éducatif notamment a l’école primaire et secondaire car l’adolescence constitue la période privilégiée pendant laquelle des modèles durables de comportements sains peuvent être développés chez l’individu. Ce programme peut par conséquent être un instrument privilégié pour contenir et freiner la propagation des IST/VIH/SIDA.

La compétence visée pour le présent document est se protéger et protéger les autres en adoptant des attitudes et comportements responsables sur les questions relatives aux IST/VIH/SIDA.

This report examines the current OVC situation in Nigeria, vis-à-vis the HIV/AIDS epidemic, and presents issues for consideration in planning a national response. It provides information and guidance that is intended to assist and encourage the OVC Stakeholders Forum to move forward with policy formulation and strategic planning. Furthermore, this report is intended to raise awareness of the magnitude and urgent nature of the task at hand, as well as energize and facilitate stakeholder action.

This report is a synthesis of what happened when faith based leaders met to reflect on issues of adolescent sexual and reproductive health and rights, including reviewing the Family Life HIV/AIDS Education curricula. Family Life and HIV Education is a planned process of education that fosters the acquisition of factual information, formation of positive attitudes, beliefs and values as well as development of skills to cope with biological, psychological, socio-cultural and spiritual aspects of human living. This curriculum represents a starting point for developing a comprehensive approach to ‘Humanity’ Education and it will guide the national school curriculum integration efforts at the primary, junior secondary, senior secondary and tertiary levels of education.

Nigeria, in revising the HIV/AIDS policy, recognizes the importance of multi-sectoral effort to control the epidemic and its effects; accepts that all Nigerians must together accept responsibility for prevention of HIV transition and the care and support of those infected and affected by the virus. Our policy identifies the importance of upholding and protecting the rights of all Nigerians including people living with or affected by HIV/AIDS; addresses the vulnerability of certain social groups including women and children to the HIV/AIDS epidemic; and develops appropriate measures to ensure that all these relevant issues are addressed.

The Nigeria National Response Information Management System was developed to monitor the implementation of HIV/AIDS prevention and control activities in the country and evaluate the impact of the various activities. It is also the repository for the core indicators that guide performance of the national response and to be reported on by NACA.

Newsletter on HIV/AIDS Stigma & Discrimination in Nigeria

This publication, Students and Teachers Exploring Possibilities, highlights the partnership between the Federal Ministry of Education and Action Health Incorporated, to promote intergenerational dialogue between students and teachers in the federal unity secondary schools in the bid to mitigate the impact of HIV and AIDS amongst young people and promote healthy sexuality. It is also a resource on how Anti-AIDS Clubs in schools can be operationalized, provides basic information on HIV and AIDS as well as how to promote abstinence skills amongst young people. 

C’est les objectifs du plan amélioré les comportements des apprenants de l’Education formelle et non formelle face aux IST/SIDA par l’IEC et l’installation de compétences de vie courante. Les activités s’articuleront autour de la formation, de la production de matériel  didactique et d’IEC, de l’information et de la sensibilisation, du renforcement des compétences, des différents acteurs du système éducatif d’un appui institutionnel, du suivi et de l’évaluation.

This innovative programme recognises the critical role played by counselling in the process of caring, helping in the prevention and control of HIV/AIDS and other STI. Counselling is a purposeful activity. The materials in the manual cove the three critical areas in counselling, theorising, practicing and reflecting.

As part of its diverse activity streams, the HIV/AIDS Education in the Ministry of Education has developed and implemented a wide range of communication campaigns and training programmes to raise awareness about AIDS and to bring about HIV preventive practices amongst education staff, teachers and learners at all levels.

The HIV/AIDS Workplace Programme in the Ministry of Education aims to bring the reality of HIV/AIDS to all employees; prevent further infection amongst the work force; create a supportive environment foa all staff, both those who are living with AIDS and those who are not; communicate the care and support structures that are available to infected employees and their families; maintain a stable workforce and minimize the costs of the epidemic on the education sector; and, provide counselling services to employees and families infected / affected by HIV/AIDS.
