Tertiary Education
This thematic group focuses on fashioning out a coordinated response to the HIV&AIDS pandemic. Issues such as the development of a framework through which tertiary education institutions would develop HIV&AIDS policies that are suitable to their situations; the development of a system through which new developments on HIV&AIDS would be shared with the tertiary institutions as well as the development of a system whereby the National Council for Tertiary Education (NCTE) could track HIV&AIDS prevention and management initiatives by the institutions. It also focuses on developing implementation plans to roll out in-service and preĀ-service programs nationally.
Representatives of public and private tertiary institutions in Sierra Leone will be expected to consider the following questions during the Workshop:

How could reliable data on HIV&AIDS prevalence be obtained?
Who are the major stakeholders in the fight against AIDS and how do we form partnerships to fight HIV&AIDS?
What are the ethical issues involved in HIV&AIDS management?
