Vitamin A

Vitamin A deficiency affects an estimated 85 million (7% of) school-age children. It causes impaired immune function and poor iron metabolism, as well as contributing to an increased risk of mortality from infectious disease. It is also widely recognised as an important cause of blindness in children.
